Last week I had the privilege of speaking at the NYSE Women’s Health Summit. My commitment to women’s health started with a multi-decade journey suffering from debilitating migraines, which I learned were caused by hormonal birth control… and recently fueled by my sister’s pregnancy, a time fraught with anxiety that she would be a victim of the #BlackMaternalMortalityCrisis. Summit attendees were reminded that women’s health extends beyond gynecological and reproductive health. McKinsey Health Institute estimates that investments addressing the women’s health gap could potentially boost the global economy by $1 trillion annually by 2040. Plainly put, women’s health is GOOD business. Special thanks to the wonderful Jessica J. Federer for inviting me back for year two of the summit. Johanna (Rodriguez) Grossman, PhD, Christina Jenkins, MD and Alice Zheng - you planned and executed FLAWLESSLY. Still fangirling that I spoke on the same stage as First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and Chelsea Clinton. One day I’ll be speaking alongside them (the universe listens). Speakers and Sponsors: The day would not have been what it was without YOU. Speakers: Lucy Perez (McKinsey Health Institute) | Anna Mason (Ingeborg Investments) | Trine Bartholdy (BioInnovation Institute | Sharon Kedar, CFA (Northpond Ventures) | Cathy Friedman (GV (Google Ventures) | Konstantina Katcheves (Bristol Myers Squibb) Sponsors: The Bowdoin Group, Leerink Partners | Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLPj | McDermott Will & Emery | McKinsey & Company Health Institute (Cc: Neena Ballard, Maya Hardigan, Charisse Y. Sparks, M.D., FAAOS) Until next year…

Today marks a special anniversary for Goldman Sachs. It was 25 years ago, on May 4, 1999, that the firm became a public company in what was then the second-largest IPO in the history of US finance. It was a big moment. By the late 1990s the firm was one of the last investment banks in the US to be privately held. After debating every side of the issue, the firm’s partners ultimately voted to undertake the same transformation through which Goldman Sachs had guided thousands of its clients over the years. When I think about how much has changed since then, what’s remarkable is how much has stayed constant: our core values, our partnership ethos, and the caliber of our people. Even during periods of extraordinary change, we continue to operate at the center of markets as the preeminent global investment bank, and in the years ahead, we’re committed to growing our business platforms in depth and breadth to address our clients’ evolving needs. The spirit of entrepreneurship, risk management and innovation from our early beginnings remains at the core of the firm even now, and I couldn’t be more excited for the future of Goldman Sachs. gs.com/IPO25

Kicking off the “5 de Mayo” festivities in great company and with great companies! NYSE commemorated the 162nd anniversary of the Battle of Puebla with The Consulate General of Mexico in NYC ringing the Opening Bell and Constellation Brands (think Corona, Modelo, and other iconic beers) closing the market. A special shout out to the 11 leading companies from Mexico listed on NYSE: AMX, ASR, CX, FMX, KOF, PAC, SIM, TBBB, TV, VLRS, and VTMX. Salud!
